Located in scenic Litchfield County, Sharon, CT was incorporated in October of 1739. It held its first town meeting on December 11th of that year and today, in the 21st century, continues a Town Meeting form of government including Selectmen and a Board of Finance. The population of Sharon is 3,052 according to The Connecticut State Register & Manual.
The town is home to The Sharon Audubon Center, The Sharon Historical Society, The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon, Women's Support Services, Sharon Hospital, Sharon Center School (grades k-8) and the Sharon Day Care which in 2005 celebrated its 20th year of operation.
